UGC NET / SET Eligibility Criteria

Before you start filling out the application form, it is crucial to ensure you meet the minimum eligibility requirements. General, Unreserved, and General-EWS candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Master's Degree or equivalent examination. For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender candidates, the minimum mark requirement is 50%.

If you are currently pursuing your Master's degree, awaiting your final year results, or if your exams have been delayed, you can still apply provisionally. However, you must complete your degree with the required percentage within two years from the date of the SET/NET result declaration, otherwise you will be disqualified.

UGC NET / SET Exam Pattern & Structure

The examination is divided into two papers, both consisting of objective-type, multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There is no break between these two papers, and they must be completed in a single stretch of 3 hours.
